Appel Farms is a small, family-owned dairy specializing in artisan cheeses. Visitors are welcome to tour the dairy, see the cows, and watch cheesemaking in action. Taste handmade cheeses in the on-site Cheese Shoppe. The farm produces quark, a traditional German cheese, good for lasagna, sauces and dips as well as for sweet cheesecakes. Other varieties include cheddar, popular for sandwiches and everyday cooking; cow’s milk feta, a Greek-style cheese often used to flavor salads and salad dressings; gouda, a delicious semi-hard cheese with a tangy taste; and fromage blanc, a French origin white cheese, excellent for spreads and dips.

Dairy – cheese (including cheddar, cheddar curd, feta, fromage blanc, gouda, paneer and quark)
